The PMRC (Pastoral & Matrimonial Renewal Centre) was founded in 1978 by Fr Charles Gallagher S.J. well-known for his leadership in Worldwide Marriage Encounter in the 1970s. Throughout the 80s and 90s, Fr Chuck developed a wide range of programs and resources aimed to resource the Church through a deeper understanding of the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Today, the PMRC offers programs and resources incorporating Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body for a range of groups including married couples, the engaged, families, for youth and for Catholic parishes.
